Did you know that there are many ways to make our community more loving and special without a huge investment of time or money? Here are just a few:
KIDS: Make a card/drawing for Wadie Pie (two yr old Wade is having the 1st of two bone marrow transplants next week.)
EVERYONE: Lift up Lisa, Liz, Al, Peggy (Cassie's Mom, not Peggy DeLong), the 'Stacey" family, and many others who are dealing with serious medical issues. Use meditation, prayer, visualization, light a candle, or whatever method resonates with you.
ADULTS: Sponsor the 'Stacey'* Family for a week. Cost $25. *Stacey is not their real name. I chose this name because I don't know the real name and needed something more dignified than "the family" when referring to them. (It also means "She who will rise again" and that is significant in this situation.) The mother is recovering from major surgery and cannot get to the food bank. $25 will supply them with perishable food for the week. We buy milk, bread, eggs, cheese, fruit and veggies every Monday and deliver them to this family. We thank you for any donations. Make checks payable to: "Heartworks" and mail to our Treasurer, Joyce Henion, Somerset Hills Bank, 24 Schooley's Mountain Rd, Long Valley, NJ 07853. Put "Stacey Family" in the memo line.
